Wow! Seems like we just got done with Christmas and the wedding for Joanna and Ben and now I look at the calendar and it is nearly halfway into January. December was very busy with the preparations for the wedding and all that involved along with the holidays. Now, it’s back to business.

I have been busy already with planning for expanding my business in 2008. Several things are moving forward that will take me to a new level of growth and financial freedom in 2008. The business connections that I have made in the past two years along with what I have learned about marketing online are about to payoff Big Time.

If you want to create a “Real” business for yourself this year, as opposed to just having an online hobby, you need to make plans now. Here are a few items that I highly recommend you include with your plans for 2008:

• Plan to attend seminars and conferences where you can learn and meet others that can help you grow your online business.
• Get Connected with experts that have skills you need to learn. Again, seminars and conferences are a great place to meet them.
• Get yourself a mentor. Join a coaching program or mastermind group where you can locate the person(s) who can help you and give you guidance.
• Learn all you can about Internet Marketing but don’t try to compete in this market unless you already have some valuable skill (like copy writing or website/database creation) that those in this niche will pay you for.
• Learn all you can about “social media” and what is called Web 2.0. Get accounts with Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace and a host of other websites where you can contribute to the content on those high traffic websites with links back to your own Blog or websites.

Many of the online experts are predicting that audio, video and social media will be the forces that will drive the growth of Internet traffic and those taking advantage of these forces will stand to make a lot of money this year and in the years ahead. Learn all you can in these areas and leverage that knowledge to your advantage.
Most importantly, invest in yourself… in learning skills and growing mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
