In 1969 when I joined the Air National Guard at the age of 19 I took an oath which said in part… “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic and, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…”

Today as we are less than 24 hours before our US election day an email from another Internet Marketer Mark Hendricks reminded my of that oath that I took nearly 40 years ago and still stand by today. With all the failings and shortcomings that our country has we are still the greatest democracy on this planet. We are still the place that thousands of people legally and illegally immigrate to by the thousands each year.

The United States Constitution, written by our founding fathers over 200 years ago, laid a foundation upon which free enterprise and opportunities for wealth creation have been possible. As a self employed small business person I am grateful to live in a country where I can learn, grow and build a business and set my own level of income through my skills and hard work.

I had an opportunity about 6 year ago to visit the former Soviet Union nation of Ukraine for about two weeks. During that time I talked to many people there about the changes that had taken place after the fall of the USSR and how that effected the country and people in Ukraine. At that time many people were just beginning to learn how to start and operate their own businesses. After several generations of “sharing the wealth” under the Soviet system most people had no idea how to start or run a business.

I saw for myself there in Ukraine what the concept of “Redistribution of Wealth” had done to a country and it’s people under the communist government. As we know from history, those in power had all the wealth and advantages that they wanted while the country moved into a simple two class system… The Wealthy Leaders and the Poor Citizens.

In Mark’s email was a link to a radio interview from 2001 on Chicago Public Radio Station WBEZ.FM with Barack Obama where he talks about the United States Constitution. At that time State Senator Obama shared that he believes the United States Constitution is flawed and it is “a charter of negative liberties.”

You may have already watched or listened to this 4 plus minute long audio on You Tube or other outlets. You can go to a posting on the Chicago Public Radio Blog from July 30, 2008 where more of it is available.

My purpose in posting this is:

1. To remind you to vote tomorrow on November 4th.

2. To vote to keep our country and the United States Constitution strong.

A strong U.S. Constitution grants us the rights we need to build and operate our Home Based Internet Marketing businesses and keep as much of the profits from our hard work as the current US Tax Code and State Tax Codes allow. I want to continue to freely give to others in need without the US Government taking additional tax dollars from me to “redistribute my wealth” as those in power see fit to do.

Please vote and vote to keep our Country and the US Constitution strong for us today, our children and grand children. Your vote does count. If you have not already voted exercise your right to do so.
